Meet Helena

A genuine medical background
Before this was my clinic, I trained and worked as a paramedic. That medical grounding shapes everything I do. I am calm, steady, and I take safety seriously at every step.

Over 20 years, fully qualified
I have more than 20 years in skin and aesthetics and I am VTCT Level 4 qualified in advanced electrolysis. I keep training so you always get safe, up-to-date care.

You always see me
I work on my own, so you see the same person every visit. Many people feel a little nervous or self-conscious. My job is to make you feel comfortable and cared for.

Why people choose Helena Aesthetics
A real medical background
Before this was my clinic, I trained and worked as a paramedic, and I have spent over 20 years in skin and aesthetics. I am a fully qualified Advanced Electrolysis practitioner at VTCT Level 4. This is real clinical grounding, not a beauty add-on.
A precise, controlled method
For blemish removal I use advanced electrolysis. It works through a fine needle, as thin as a hair, placed on or near the blemish, with no cutting, and it leaves the healthy skin around it unharmed. That makes it a gentle choice for fine facial areas.
Genuinely local and easy to reach
I am a genuinely local Middlesbrough clinic at 283 Acklam Road, right on the main road by the traffic lights and easy to spot, with two hours of free parking outside. And because I work on my own, you see the same person, me, every single visit.
Natural results, no pressure
I would rather do less and keep you for life than overdo your face for one sale. I will always tell you honestly what will help, what will not, and what you can leave alone. Every treatment starts with an honest consultation and a patch test, so we only ever do what is right for you.

What my clients say in Middlesbrough
Simple and reassuring
How it works
1
Consultation & patch test
We start by talking it through. I check the treatment is suitable, answer your questions, and carry out a patch test where needed. Nothing goes ahead until you are comfortable.
2
Your treatment
Most blemish treatments take about 10 to 30 minutes. You may feel a mild warm or tingling sensation, but it is generally very well tolerated, and any discomfort is brief. There is no cutting.
3
Aftercare
Before you leave, I give you simple, personalised aftercare advice so your skin heals cleanly. Most people go straight back to their day with no downtime.
4
Two-month follow-up
I ask every client back for a check-up two months after treatment, so I can make sure everything has healed well and we are both happy with the result.

Common questions
Common questions
Most people feel only a mild warm or tingling sensation. There is no cutting, so any discomfort is brief and easy to manage.
Yes, when it is carried out by a trained practitioner. I am VTCT Level 4 qualified with a medical and paramedic background, and every treatment starts with a consultation and patch test.
Freezing treatments work by freezing the blemish, which can affect the healthy skin around it and is harder to control on fine facial areas and darker skin tones. Advanced electrolysis uses pinpoint heat through a very fine probe, so it treats the blemish precisely and leaves the surrounding skin alone. I find it a gentler, more controlled choice for delicate areas.
Only after your GP has confirmed in writing that it is safe to do so. Your safety comes before anything else. If you are ever unsure about a mole or a changing blemish, please see your GP first.
No. There is no cutting and no need to take time off. Most people go straight back to their day. Most blemishes heal in about 10 days, and larger ones can take up to two months to fully settle.
Yes. A short consultation, and a patch test where it is needed, lets me check the treatment is suitable and explain exactly what to expect, so you feel completely comfortable before we begin.
