A gentler way to deal with warts
Wart and verruca removal in Middlesbrough at Helena Aesthetics is a non-surgical treatment using advanced electrolysis, also called diathermy. A medically trained, VTCT Level 4 practitioner and former paramedic treats stubborn warts and verrucas precisely, with no cutting and no harsh acids. Every treatment starts with a consultation and patch test.
Warts and verrucas
Warts are small, rough growths that can appear anywhere on the skin, and a verruca is simply a wart on the sole of the foot. They are common and usually harmless, but they can be uncomfortable, spread, and be slow to clear with shop-bought treatments.
At Helena Aesthetics on Acklam Road in Middlesbrough I remove warts and verrucas gently with advanced electrolysis, without cutting.
What to expect
How long it takes
most treatments take between 10 and 30 minutes, depending on the size and number.
Does it hurt?
Most people feel only a mild warm or tingling sensation.
Healing
for most people the area heals in around 10 days, and larger or deeper ones can take a little longer.
Aftercare
I give you personalised aftercare advice before you leave, and I ask you back for a check two months later.
Some warts and any changing skin lesion are better seen by your GP first. At your consultation I check the area and will let you know if that is the case, for your safety.

How advanced electrolysis removes a wart
A fine needle, no cut
A very fine, sterile needle, about as thin as a hair, is gently placed on the wart. There is no cutting.
A little controlled heat
A small, controlled amount of heat passes through the needle into the wart.
The tissue dries up
The heat gently dries the tissue, without harming the healthy skin around it.
It falls away naturally
Over the following days the treated wart dries and falls away on its own.
